Credits
One credit costs $0.001. A dollar of ETH buys 1,000 credits. Credits never expire.
Price classes
| Class | Models | Credits per 1,000 tokens |
|---|---|---|
| Small | up to 3B parameters | 0.2 |
| Medium | 7B to 14B | 0.5 |
| Large | 27B and up | 1.5 |
Prompt and output tokens are billed at the same rate. Every model's class is in GET /v1/models.
How tokens are counted
The orchestrator counts tokens itself, so no worker can inflate a bill: one token per 4 characters, rounded up, plus 4 per message for the prompt. For the output, if the worker reports a lower count from its own tokenizer, the lower one is billed. A worker can lower its pay, never raise it.
Worked example
A chat turn on a medium model with 300 prompt tokens and 500 output tokens uses 800 tokens: 800 / 1000 x 0.5 = 0.4 credits, or $0.0004. The worker receives $0.00028 (70%) and the treasury $0.00012.
Free allowance
Without a key, every visitor gets 30 credits a day on the network chat and the API. The treasury pays the workers for those jobs.
